Tom Cruise narrowly escaped injury after crashing his motorcycle in Los Angeles on Sunday, according to various online reports.

Cruise was slightly hurt Sunday when he crashed his motorcycle at a Los Angeles intersection while trying to avoid colliding with a car, HollywoodLife.com reports.

The Mission: Impossible star was riding through the city on his motorbike when another car drove through a stop sign in front of him, forcing him to swerve and hit a vehicle.

“It was like a scene from ‘Mission Impossible,’” one witness told the site.

Cruise struggled to his feet and appeared to be limping as five witnesses whisked to his aid.

Tom’s red Ducati motorcycle was damaged in the crash; the gears were “completely torn to shreds on the left side.”

Meanwhile, Team Tom insists the crash never happened. A message posted to Cruise’s Twitter page reads: “Tom NOT in motorcycle accident 2day…Tom tells us he hasn’t been on his bike in days due 2 the weather, but when it clears up, look out. ;) .”

Tom’s up for a new mission: Tom Cruise is back for Mission: Impossible 4 - and not only will the actor star in it – he’ll produce it with J.J. Abrams, Deadline Hollywood reported Tuesday. Cruise has signed on to reprise the role of Ethan Hunt for the Paramount super spy feature that’s expected to begin production this summer for a Memorial Day 2011 release.

Star Trek director Abrams will produce the feature and Alias scribes Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec have been tapped to pen the script — although a director has not yet been attached to the project.

Tom next stars in the Summer 2010 action/romantic comedy Knight and Day with Cameron Diaz, opening July 2.

Michael Davis Sapir claims that actor Tom Cruise, attorney Bert Fields and infamous jailed private investigator Anthony Pellicano conspired to spy on him.

He says they illegally wiretapped his phone … why would they do that?

There is a bit of history between Tom Cruise and Michael Davis Sapir.

In 2001, Cruise sued Sapir for $100 million after he claimed video of Cruise “engaged in a homosexual relationship.” That lawsuit settled later that year.

Both parties issued a statement saying that no such tape existed.

YEAH! HAHAHAHA!

Tom Cruise is a wild man. But a spy?

In the latest suit, filed Friday in L.A. County Superior Court, Sapir claims Pellicano illegally wiretapped his phone during the time of the 2001 lawsuit.

Sapir claims in the suit that Cruise, Fields and Pellicano were all privy to what was going on, and is currently suing the actor for $5 million, minimum.

Bert Fields says they did not even hire Pellicano to work on the Sapir case.

There was no comment from Cruise’s rep. Pellicano? Well, he’s in jail.

TOM CRUISE

Tom Cruise won’t be gleefully leaping on top of any sofas when he gets word of a new lawsuit with his name on it: A Los Angeles magazine editor has slapped the Mission Impossible actor with a $5 million suit over allegations Cruise hired shamed private investigator Anthony Pellicano to wiretap his phone.

According to documents filed at Los Angeles’ County Superior Court on Friday and obtained by TMZ.com, Michael Davis Sapir claims that the jailed Pellicano and attorney Bert Fields bugged his phone on Tom’s orders.

This isn’t the first legal tango for Cruise and Sapir. In 2001, the star sued Sapir for $100 million after Sapir claimed to have video evidence that Cruise “engaged in a homosexual relationship.” That lawsuit settled later that year. In the settlement, both parties issued a statement saying that no such tape existed.

In the latest suit, Sapir claims Pellicano illegally wiretapped his phone during the time the 2001 lawsuit was active.

Another week, another great tabloid cover from OK!

We haven’t heard a whole lot from Katie Holmes in awhile, probably because she’s been let out of her cage long enough to do some of her own projects.

Meanwhile, her husband, Tom Cruise, is overseas filming the action-romance Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz. Is the separation hurting their marriage?

Rumors that the couple, who celebrated their three-year anniversary November 18, have separated because of marital tensions are running rampant.

On the contrary, though, OK! can exclusively make up report that Tom and Katie reached a deal on expanding their family: for $75 million, she’ll do it!!

New Marriage Deal!

In other news, Tiger Woods apparently “reveals what really happened” in this issue. We doubt it, unless they mean how he lost the PGA Championship to Y.E. Yang.

While right now work is Katie’s first priority, which Tom doesn’t agree with, she plans to get pregnant “sometime in the next year.” And in return?

Well, she becomes $75 million more “vested” in Tom’s fortune. Talk about a romantic offer. Wonder how much she got for creating Suri Cruise.

Part of the reason for Katie’s independent streak? She wants to feel like an equal partner in the marriage for once, not just the wife of a megastar.

“She no longer feels like she’s just Mrs. Cruise. She’s her own person again,” a pal tells OK! of the couple’s decision. “She and Tom have their disagreements, but deep down they love each other very much. That’s what is important.”

That and creating celebrity gossip “news” like this.

Tom Cruise arrived in Salzburg, Austria today to film “Knight & Day,” an action comedy co-starring Cameron Diaz. They play a fugitive couple on a glamorous (and sometimes deadly) adventure where nothing and no one – even themselves – are what they seem.

These two should make a good couple for an action film, and I’m sure there will be some fun romance in there, too. Hopefully lots of snappy dialogue reminiscent of the old-time spy movies. James Mangold directs the film, due in theaters July 2, 2010.

Cruise looks in tip-top form, doesn’t he?
