Pop singer Cheryl Cole and her soccer star hubby Ashley are calling it quits after nearly four years of togetherness — likely because Ashley has spent much of the marriage getting “together” with everyone except his wife.
“Cheryl Cole is separating from her husband Ashley Cole. Cheryl asks the media to respect her privacy during this difficult time. We have no further comment to make,” Cheryl’s rep Sundraj Sreenivasan said in a press release issued Tuesday.
The announcement ends one of the most high-profile showbusiness marriages in the UK. Since their marriage in 2006, the athlete and the “Can’t Speak French” singer had become one of Britain’s most famous celebrity couples, with newspapers and paparazzi recording every detail of their daily lives.
Until now, Cheryl, 26, has maintained a dignified silence over reports that her husband is London’s answer to Tiger Woods. Ashley is accused of bedding numerous women behind his famous wife’s back.
Cheryl — dubbed FHM’s “Hottest Woman” in 2009 — rose to fame with the pop group Girls Aloud before launching a solo singing career in 2009.

Remember Kelis? Lady who sang the “Milkshake” song?
Well, just in case you were dying to hear her thoughts on…well, anything, she is now saying that she believes Rihanna is just copying her look. Because, you know, she’s such a leader in the industry. Here we go:
“You know what. Listen, it’d be totally ridiculous for me to not acknowledge it if someone asks. The reality is, what is she like 20? I mean, what else is she supposed to do? I mean honestly. I don’t have any animosity at all whatsoever. That’s what she’s supposed to do.”
I’m not completely convinced that Rihanna jacked her style. OK, they both have short hair. I know a lot of people think Rihanna tries too hard but I just don’t know. I’m just not convinced that she said “hey, who can I get inspiration from? I know, Kelis.” I don’t believe that.

Even if this past year has been one she’d rather forget for many reasons, Rihanna has been named one of Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year for 2009.
Continuing a series of interviews this week to promote her upcoming album, Rated R, Rihanna opens up to the magazine about her brutal February beating.
As we all know by now, the vicious attack perpetrated by then-boyfriend and “first love” Chris Brown was one of the biggest celeb news stories of the year.
One that she says “taught me so much.”
“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” the 21-year-old singer says. “That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.”
“It was like, wait, what, there are helicopters circling my house? There are 100 people in my cul-de-sac? What do you mean, I can’t just go back home?”
Rihanna: Glamour’s new cover girl.
Rihanna says she was “humiliated” by haunting photos of her bruised face that leaked onto the web in the aftermath of Brown pummeling her senseless.
“That is not a photo you would show to anybody,” she says. “I felt completely taken advantage of … as if, like, people were making it into this fun topic.”
Of the pic posted by TMZ, she adds, “It’s my life. I was disappointed, especially when I found out the photo was [supposedly leaked by] two women.”
And while Rihanna raises the unwavering support of friends and family throughout the ordeal, she’s blunt about her state of mind in those dark days.
“At some point,” she admits, saying that after what she went through that night, “you are there alone. It’s a lonely place to be, no one can understand.”
“Domestic violence is a big secret. My story was broadcast all over the world for people to see, and they have followed every step of my recovery. The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that.”
One pillar of support? Her mom, who separated from her dad when Rihanna was eight. “My mom gave us all the tools to survive. I helped her raise my [youngest] brother, because my mom was working all the time. He’s my favorite.”
Rihanna may be a style icon, but what she really aspires to be is a role model for victims of domestic abuse, something she still thinks is a secret for too many people.

AC/DC have been forced to postpone six tour dates because frontman Brian Johnson is recovering from a medical procedure and his doctors have advised him to take time to rest. According to the band’s official Website, the group’s October 1st show in Phoenix will be postponed, along with gigs in Las Vegas, Louisville, Kansas City, Des Moines and Milwaukee. The Black Ice World Tour gets back on track October 16th in Washington, DC.
Check out photos from AC/DC’s tour launch.
AC/DC kicked off their summer tour in late July in Boston, where they debuted their giant new stage and blasts of pyro, plus a set list jammed with classics like “Hells Bells” next to new tunes like “Rock N Roll Train.”

It’s been a rough year on the road for some of rock’s biggest names. Aerosmith’s summer tour was derailed by several medical problems, most recently Steven Tyler’s stage fall. In May, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan skipped a few dates to have a tumor removed. Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee and Drake also had to skip out on show for health reasons, and of course, Poison’s Bret Michaels suffered the year’s most memorable injury when he was nailed in the head with a piece of scenery at the Tony Awards.

Two employees of Michael Jackson who were present in the singer’s home on June 25th want to help investigators piece together the events leading up to the star’s death. Michael Amir, Jackson’s personal assistant, and Alberto Alvarez, a security guard who reportedly placed the 911 call demanding an ambulance, had brief informal talks with police the day Jackson died, but their lawyer Carl Douglas says the two men can shed new light on the June 25th timeline, the Los Angeles Times reports.
For instance, at 12:13 p.m. on June 25th, Amir received a panicked four-second message from Jackson’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, that essentially said, “Come quick.” Nine minutes later, paramedics were called to Jackson’s home. Douglas said both of his clients are eager to share more information with authorities but have so far been stonewalled. However, Douglas wouldn’t elaborate on what other information his clients might tell authorities.
Look back at Jackson’s life and career, in photos.
“We arranged two separate occasions for LAPD investigators to meet with my clients. My clients came early wearing suits and ties. The first meeting was canceled and rescheduled. The second meeting I had to call them to inquire about the [detectives’] absence,” Douglas told the LAT. The LAPD wouldn’t comment on an open investigation. Because Alvarez was in the room with Murray in the moments before paramedics arrived, Douglas believes his client could provide crucial information and help confirm or deny whatever Dr. Murray had previously told investigators in interviews.
As Rock Daily previously reported, the coroner overseeing Jackson’s case has declared the death a homicide, and Murray remains the focus of the investigation. An unsealed search warrant revealed that Jackson likely died from an overdose of a drug “cocktail” including 25 mgs of the powerful anesthetic Propofol, Valium and other sedatives, a combination that ultimately caused Jackson to stop breathing and suffer sudden cardiac arrest.

According to the LA Times, and despite Murray’s lawyer Ed Chernoff’s denials, police also believe that Murray made three phone calls totaling 47 minutes in the hour of Jackson’s death. However, contrary to previous reports that stated Murray left Jackson alone after administering Propofol to make calls, the Times writes that those phone calls reportedly didn’t begin until 11:18 a.m., or 18 minutes after Murray discovered Jackson wasn’t breathing. If this new timeline is accurate, considering 911 wasn’t called until 12:22 p.m., that’s an hour and twenty-two minute gap between when Murray found Jackson not breathing to when paramedics were called.
