Sean Penn was allegedly ejected from the Governor’s Ball Oscars Afterparty after he slugged Hurt Locker producer Greg Shapiro, celebrity tattles snitched to E! News on Monday. Shapiro is dating Penn’s soon-to-be ex-wife, actress Robin Wright.

But despite reports of a scuffle between the pair, Penn’s reps deny he was even at the party. A publicist for the Oscar winner tells X17.com that she escorted her client from the Academy Awards ceremony immediately after he had presented Sandra Bullock with her Best Actress award.
“Sean did not get banned nor kicked out of the Governors Ball or any other function.”

You reportedly had words with ex-wife Robin Wright’s current squeeze, Hurt Locker producer Greg Shapiro, according to E! gossip Marc Malkin. Although your rep denies a controntation, Malkin cites sources as saying you had been banned from the post-Oscars Governor’s Ball.
What gives, Sean? Your talent is without doubt — we loved Milk and your directorial tour-de-force Into The Wild — but that is not enough to erase your personal history of sparking drama at inappropriate times. Clearly, you haven’t learned from your past behavior. Let’s list some, shall we?
- Filing for divorce from Robin Wright for a second time and then changing your mind.
- Reportedly hooking up with Natalie Portman as his marriage unraveled; her rep fervently denied this, but we would not put it past Sean to attempt to get with NatPort (the end-all, be-all for all men, apparently).
- Wishing critics of his humanitarian efforts in Haiti to die “screaming of rectal cancer.”
- Serving jail time for assaulting a photographer.
- Breaking up with Robin Wright and briefly dating model-arm candy Petra Nemcova.
- Forgetting to thank Robin Wright in his best-Oscar acceptance speech for Milk.
- Being otherwise awesome.
We repeat this list as a reminder to channel your flair for dramz into what you do best: acting, directing and attempting to save the world.
Take care–and talk soon!

Sean Penn can relate to Angelina Jolie.
Both are A-list celebrities and Oscar winners. Both have also gotten deeply involved in humanitarian causes, and yet somehow face criticism for doing so.
In January, the actor brought 11 doctors to Haiti, helping to establish a private relief organization for the earthquake-ravaged nation.
But many cynics out there have argued that Penn ought to avoid such endeavors because they think he’s doing it solely for positive PR. Moreover, they find it hypocritical for a star to complain about an injustice… and then return to his mansion.
To these critics, in an interview with CBS News’ Sunday Morning, Penn said:
“I haven’t had an awful lot of time to pay attention to them. You know, do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”
We love the response.
Why? We wrote a similar defense of Jolie last month, but look: even if you wish to believe that these stars take part in charitable causes simply because it makes them look good (and you have zero evidence to back this up; it’s solely a decision to be cynical)… who cares?!?
They still are donating their time and their money. The homeless in Haiti are still better off for their efforts. Aren’t these results the most important thing?
In an age in which Snooki and Kim Kardashian are worshiped just because they have big breasts and appear on TV, it’s nice to see Penn, Jolie and others actually do something positive with their celebrity. They don’t just spout talking points and hollow cliches (hi, Sarah Palin). They take action.
If you choose to attach a hidden agenda to these actions, we don’t hope you die from cancer. But we do pity you.

Sean Penn has expressed his ire at critics who have slammed the Oscar winner’s role in the earthquake relief effort in Haiti as a move to distract the world’s attention from his messy divorce: he hopes they all die of rectal cancer. The actor’s divorce with Robin Wright Penn hit headlines this month after critics dubbed Penn’s Haiti effort a gimmick to gain popularity.

In an interview to air on CBS’ Sunday Morning this weekend, Penn told journalist Lara Logan that he has been so busy working on disaster relief in Haiti he hasn’t had much time for his critics.
“Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”

Oscar-winning actor Sean Penn is facing battery and vandalism charges in relation to an altercation with a photographer in Brentwood last fall.
Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office Spokesman Frank Mateljan says the 49-year-old Milk actor kicked a photographer during a brawl in October. The photographer’s camera also was damaged.
“We’re alleging that in the scuffle a photographer’s camera was damaged and he was battered…” Mateljan said this afternoon.
If convicted, Penn could face up to 18 months in jail. It’s not the first time Penn has been reprimanded for his violent outbursts. The father of two was sentenced to 60 days in jail for punching a movie extra on the set of the police drama Colors in 1987. At the time, he was on probation for punching a songwriter at a Los Angeles club.

Less than a month after Robin Wright filed for divorce from Sean Penn, the actor was spotted numerous times with model Jessica White in New York City.
On The Tyra Show Wednesday, White, a former guest judge on Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model Cycle 13, was grilled about dating the movie star.
“Can I say that? Is that OK, is that too much?” Banks asked.
“No, it’s not too much,” White said.
When Banks showed photos of Penn and White, who was dating Terrell Owens earlier in the summer, holding hands in September, White played it cool.
“I hold hands with my friends,” said the model, trying to keep it coy, but to which Banks excitedly replied, “Ooooh, she’s dating Sean Penn!”
“No, I didn’t say that,” White says. “[We] used to, past tense.”
Despite cooling things off, White still thinks fondly of the actor.
Says the model, “He is a very sweet guy.”
That clears up this piece of breaking news that we’re sure had you on the edge of your seat. You may now return to discussing other issues of the day, such as Robsten’s undying love, Kourtney Kardashian’s pregnancy or the Newsweek Palin cover.
