Reality star Kendra Wilkinson opens up about her teenage drug problem and a stint in a psychiatric ward on the latest installment of E!’s celebrity documentary series True Hollywood Story.
Wilkinson struggled with drug addiction as a teenager and was briefly locked up for “feeling suicidal,” the ex-Girl Next Door and new mom, 24, has revealed. In the interview, airing Wednesday night at 10 PM on E!, Kendra says her “drug days” began at 13 when a friend offered her cocaine. But the time she was a sophomore in high school, she was using drugs “every day, every minute” and would often cut herself. After swallowing “a half dozen or so” pills at school at age 15, her mother checked her in a psychiatric facility.
“It was crazy in that place,” Wilkinson says in the expose, obtained by Us Weekly. “We didn’t see daylight. We weren’t allowed outside. It was basically a jail, but it was a hospital. I think it made me worse because in my heart I didn’t want to change. People were forcing me, and that’s something that does not work with me.”

In news that shouldn’t be shocking for someone that has posed in Playboy and dated a senior citizen, Kendra Wilkinson reveals the following personal details of her life in her new E! True Hollywood Story:
She once dabbled in cocaine and was hospitalized as a teenager for drug abuse and suicidal thoughts.
Around 13, Kendra says she started to hang out with a “rebel group.”
“All of a sudden they broke out this white stuff,” she said. “I did it, and I started feeling this big ball of chalk going down my throat and I was like ‘what is this ****! Ew this is so gross.’. After that I started feeling pretty good. That was the start of my drug days.”
Due to these issues, Kendra’s mother admitted her daughter for two weeks to a secured psychiatric facility.
“It was crazy in that place,” Wilkinson says in the TV special. “A lot of those kids were suicidal like me and we didn’t see daylight. We weren’t allowed outside. It was basically a jail, but it was a hospital.”
Kendra says the experience actually “made me worse,” as she ran away from home her sophomore year of high school.
“I was still on drugs,” she says. “All throughout sophomore year I lived with this guy and I did drugs for that long. Every day, every minute.”
The model has turned things around now. We may mock her for her constant tabloid coverage, but we’re glad to see Kendra is on the mend.

It’s back to the City of Brotherly Love for former Playboy Playmate-turned-NFL trophy bride Kendra Wilkinson.
Star Magazine is reporting that the buxom new mom and her husband and son — Hank Baskett III & IV, respectively — are leaving their home in Indiana to return to Philadelphia. Hubby Hank just signed a one-year contract to rejoin the Philly Eagles — and the hot reality couple is rolling back into town with camera crew in tow….albeit grudgingly.
Star spies say the Southern California born and bred Kendra is especially upset about the move East. She want to be as close as possibly to her family. And how can she be expected to hit up all the hottest parties at the Playboy Mansion if she’s on the other side of the United States?!
The Basketts are no strangers to jet-setting. The young family moved from the San Fernando Valley to New Jersey, while Baskett played with Eagles last year. They then relocated to Carmel, Indiana when Hank signed with the Indianapolis Colts.
The second season of Kendra premieres this Sunday night @ 10 PM on E!.

As she supposedly struggles with postpartum depression, Kendra Wilkinson is opening up to the sources that will pay her help her the most: supermarket tabloids.
Earlier this month, the new mother told OK! Weekly she had suicidal thoughts soon after giving birth to Hank Baskett IV.
Now, in the latest issue of Us Weekly, Kendra goes into specifics about her post-pregnancy body issues.
“Having a different body was such a culture shock. I’m so used to being hot and fit… I did go through some depression,” she says. “I love my legs, and I love my butt, but everything else I hate.”
What secret saved Kendra’s sex life?!? Even in this economy, how can you not shell out money to find out?
Even her breasts?!? Yes.
Wilkinson “went from a 34C to an E,” she says, and “now that they’re going down, they’re a little bigger than I want. I want to even out my body a little.”
Sounds perfect. She can get plastic surgery or lose more weight and – presto! – another magazine cover. She’s good.

When Evan Bayh announced last month that he would not seek reelection as the Indiana Senator, an unusual name surfaced as his replacement: Kendra Wilkinson.
Might the former naked model consider it? To quote a political figure with the same IQ as Kendra: You betcha!
“I don’t even know what the Senate does,” Kendra tells Details magazine in a new interview, sounding more and more like Sarah Palin. “I’ll run for it, but I don’t really know what it means. I would definitely campaign for better education in schools and donate more money to inner-city schools and stuff like that.
“I would definitely love to see kids have more focus in life with sports and stuff, and I know that, like, Mr. Schwarzenegger wants to take away our sports and our art. I’m totally 100 percent against that. Our kids need focus, especially these days when there are drugs all over the place.”
What else did Kendra say to the magazine? We’ve posted a few nuggets below:
On her new house: It’s so fricking amazing. It’s in Tarzana, L.A. I’d never heard of it before, but it’s almost better than Hollywood. I can’t wait to show the house off on TV. Five bedrooms, like, seven bathrooms, a pool, a grotto-type thing.
On how she gets E! to turn off the cameras: I ask them politely to respect that we need some time alone. Or I just lift up my shirt. It’s too expensive to blur boobs.
On her new book: Yesterday was my last meeting with my ghostwriter. I’m very hands-on. I want it my way or the highway. It’s called Sliding Into Home – first base was my childhood, how I grew up, and the second base is my rough years as a teenager, and third base was the Playboy Mansion and the Hugh Hefner days. Sliding into home is me being married with our baby and being home.

Postpartum Depression is a serious disease. It inflicts approximately 13 percent of women after they give birth, typically for the first time, and it can lead to major psychological issues. Even suicide in the worst cases.
We don’t wish to make light of it.
However, as professional celebrity gossip bloggers that have seen countless stars sink to any level in order to make headlines, we must question Kendra Wilkinson’s sincerity when she brings up this issue.
Asked how she felt immediately after Hank Baskett IV was born, Kendra tells OK! Weekly:
I never brushed my hair, my teeth, or took a shower. I looked in the mirror one day and was really depressed. I thought, “Look at me!” I had this glamorous life in L.A., and now [in Indianapolis] I didn’t.
A couple of times, I even said, “I just have nothing to live for.”
Considering Kendra posed on FOUR covers of this very same tabloid after giving birth, likely earning a significant chunk of change each time, it’s only natural to wonder if she simply needs a new hook, considering that baby weight loss story is old news…
If Kendra was truly depressed, we hope she’s feeling better. If she’s lying about that, she’s a pretty terrible human being.
** In a related story, the season premiere of Kendra airs on E! on March 14. Amazing timing, isn’t it?

Is Washington ready for a former Playboy Bunny? Rocker John Mellencamp isn’t just one celeb possibly his hat into the ring for Evan Bayh’s Indiana Senate seat.
There’s a grassroots movement building that’s urging former “Girls Next Door” Kendra Wilkinson to run to replace Bayh, who announced this week that he will not seek reelection in the 2010 midterm elections, The Examiner said on Friday.
Kendra resides in Indiana with her husband, Indianapolis Colts star Hank Baskett. Various Indianapolis radio stations are polling locals about who they’d like to see replace Bayh. Surprisingly, dozens of listeners have called in to nominate the reality star.
While she’s got the residency part down, Kendra’s not eligible to run for public office just yet. At 24, the new mom still has six years to go before she meets the age requirement to serve as a US Senator.
