The delightful family movie “Up” hits DVD and Blu-ray on Nov. 10, 2009. I thought it was a really well done movie; a little sad in spots (ok, downright weepy!), but a great movie with lots to say. Read my review of “Up” here.
I caught up with Jordan Nagai, who voices the part of Russell the Wilderness Explorer in the film. He’s enthusiastic and energetic – not unlike his on-screen counterpart – and they even look alike, don’t they?
Read on for Jordan’s thoughts on making “Up” and running an obstacle course before his recording sessions.
Tell us about your new movie, “Up.”
“Up” is about a young wilderness explorer called Russell. Russell needs his last wilderness explorer badge – the Assisting The Elderly Badge – so he goes to his elderly neighbor, Mr. Fredricksen, to see if he can get it.
What happens when Russell meets Mr. Fredricksen?
Mr. Fredricksen has just lost his wife and he is about to lose his house, so he decides to go on an adventure by attaching balloons to his home. He sails into the sky, but Russell accidentally goes along for the ride.

Tell us a little about Russell?
Russell is an active, enthusiastic and determined 8-year-old boy. He loves animals and he loves the wilderness, so he has a great time exploring when they land near Paradise Falls. Russell is a funny, helpful and smart boy — and he wants to get this last badge to please his father.
What is Mr. Fredricksen like?
Mr. Fredricksen is grumpy and he doesn’t like going outside. Russell loves being outside and he loves running around, so they’re opposites. Russell has only been to museums. He’s never experienced the forest for real, so this is his first trip into a wilderness.
What are your favorite things about Russell?
I like the way that he’s funny. He makes a lot of jokes, and he sometimes shows off what he knows from his wilderness explorer camp. He shows Carl – Mr. Fredricksen – different knots and the different calls of animals.
Are you anything like Russell?
We both love animals and I’m pretty determined at getting things that I really want. I’d love to explore the wilderness too!
How did you get the part of Russell?
The principal at my school sent out an email to all students saying there was an audition for 9 and 10 year old boys. My brother was 9 years old at the time and he went to the audition, so I went along with him. Even though I was only 7 years old, I was allowed to do the audition, too. I did several auditions after that, and finally, I got the part!
Was it hard recording your voice in the sound booth?
It wasn’t very difficult, but I had to repeat the same lines over and over again. I also had to stand for a long time, so it was a little tiring. The director – Pete Docter (read my Q&A here) – tried to make it easier for me, so I took a lot of breaks. I had a lot of fun recording the voice!
Did you do anything special to prepare for the recording sessions?
Before some recordings, I’d do jumping jacks or I’d run around the studio to pump up my energy. When I needed to be excited, Pete would make obstacle courses for me to run around, too!
What was your funniest moment from the recording sessions?
There was one time when I needed to laugh, so Pete held me upside down and tickled me. That was really funny.
Is it weird to hear your voice coming out of a cartoon character?
It’s pretty weird, but it’s cool too.
What do your friends think of your new fame?
They are all very excited for me. We went to see the movie together on opening day. They like the movie a lot, and they think that I’m very lucky.
Have you always wanted to be an actor?
It wasn’t my plan, but I really enjoyed working on “Up.”
What other films would you like to star in?
“Toy Story” would be a great movie to work on. My brother and I have always liked “Toy Story.” I think it’s really cool when the toys come alive and have their own adventure.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to swim and play basketball. I also love judo. I like the drum and the guitar!
Russell heads off to South America in the movie … Is there any place you’d like to visit?
I would like to go to Africa. I want to go on safari and see the wild animals, like the cheetah. That would be very cool!

Thursday, we told you about an investigative report in Britain alleging the “shocking” breakup of Katie Price and Peter Andre was purely a publicity stunt.
It’s an interesting theory – but the News of the World has a different one. According to that publication, the fantasy pin-up is divorcing for other reasons:
The two have been sexless since 2007.
Katie Price, also known as Jordan, supposedly admitted recently that the first sign of the couple being on the rocks came when their sex life went quiet.
She told a friend: “We’d lost that passion in bed. I know it goes after a while for everyone but for us it had been so good, so important, so hot.”
In a separate, emotional confession to pals, Peter said: “I’ve been saying for a long time it was a case of ‘when’ not ‘if’ we would get divorced. The relationship’s been going under since 2007 but I was terrified of missing the kids.”
A pal of Peter said: “Things haven’t been right for [Katie and Peter] in the bedroom for almost two years now. To put it bluntly, Jordan stopped fancying him. This caused big problems because she has a huge sex drive.”
HAPPIER TIMES: There hasn’t been much of this lately for Katie and Peter.
Last week, Jordan was drunkenly flirting with her friend Andrew Gould and flashing her gigantic boobs for the camera (sphotos below). The pics turned up in the tabloids, and were supposedly the last straw for Peter, who said it was over.
Katie Price flew off to the Maldives with their two children leaving her husband with stepson, Harvey. Crushed, Peter Andre jetted to Cyprus to see his family.
As topless Jordan soaked up the sunshine with a blonde pal at a £2,000-a-night luxury villa on Rangali island she has been briefing friends at home on her trauma.
With three-year-old son Junior and 21-month-old daughter Princess Tiaami inside in the cool, she sobbed: “Pete has broken every promise he ever made to me.”
“I’m in complete hell, this is a living nightmare. I could never imagine life without Pete but now I’m contemplating it because I don’t know how I could go back.”
Despite her fury, Jordan did admit she helped drive a wedge between the couple: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m f*%king angry at Pete. He’s acted like a c*%k. But I know I’ve caused some of this by not being the best wife in the world.”

While she insists that this week’s split from Peter Andre was his idea, and that she is absolutely devastated, some sources suspect that the whole thing could be a tawdry publicity stunt cooked up by Katie Price herself.
She’s got her fourth autobiography coming out soon, while he is about to release an album full of gut-wrenching ballads about losing the woman he loves.
Does sound like a Speidi-like publicity stunt, no?
About two weeks ago, the model formerly known as Jordan felt anxious, she confided, because she thought that she was simply not earning enough.
She had dyed her hair a plain brown because she said she was “fed up” with highlights, and cut down her longtime stylist’s hours due to fiscal woes.
Having been in America for months, paying rent on a house in Malibu but not earning any money, the attention whore was starting to feel broke and forgotten. And nothing annoys an attention whore more than the threat of obscurity.
A source who spent time with Katie Price recalls ger grumbling about her “thunder thighs” and being even more bad tempered than usual with Peter.
It was then she started to talk about a “massive comeback.”
Katie said she was going to reinvent herself in a spectacular way – which she did not specify – confiding that she was going on one of her juice-only detox diets.
These are the sort of actions to which the 30-year-old is prone, and few took notice, as she often talks about wanting to be the nation’s biggest star again.
Now, of course, things look rather different.
The “shocking pictures” which are supposed to have ended the marriage are harmless. Peter was said to have lost his $h!t when he saw them, but Katie was merely “cuddling up” to international dressage rider Spencer Wilton – he is openly gay.
Wilton and Price are friends through their shared interest in riding and her commercial ventures with equestrian clothing. In fact, the two are so close that it’s hard to credit that Andre did not recognize the “mystery hunk.”
So if they have not split up thanks to those pics, have they truly split up at all? According to reports, the reality TV couple looked perfectly happy as they exited the trendy London restaurant Nobu on Saturday night, hand in hand.
And hadn’t Katie been talking only last week about her plans to have a third child with Peter gladly concurring with the idea in his most recent magazine column?

Five years, two children, several reality shows, a bunch of plastic surgery and countless topless photo shoots later, Katie Price and Peter Andre are splitting up.
The two met on the UK version of the show I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, debuting in the U.S. this summer (complete with a Spencer Pratt rap song).
According to their publicists, Peter Andre, who is allegedly a singer, and Katie Price, the insanely large-breasted model formerly known as Jordan, have ironically requested “that the media respect their families’ privacy during this difficult time.”
Always amusing when attention-starved d-listers make such requests.
The news is still sort of a shock for fans, as less than a week ago they announced plans to conceive a third child during an upcoming vacation in Cyprus.
“I’m aiming to plant my seed every night,” Andre told OK! It’s a valiant goal, but one he’ll be pursuing other places than Katie Price nude from now on.
Katie Price and Peter Andre are calling it quits after five years and countless annoying photo shoots together. We wish them the best toiling in obscurity solo.

Peter Andre and Katie Price (a.k.a. Jordan) are calling it quits! Nooooo!!! I am dying! I LOVED this couple. He is a ten and so is she….they were perfect together! Normally, I would be really excited about this, because I would just go after Peter Andre myself. However, I just got married, so I can’t! Ugh…I so wanted these two to make it!
A rep for the couple has said, “Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after 4 and a half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time.”
Nobody will be a better dad to Harvey than Peter. I hope these two idiots come to their senses and realize they HAVE to be together or the earth will stop spinning!

When Cheryl Cole laid into Posh Spice in a recent magazine interview, claiming she was disappointed in the lack of support she received from her pal when rumours of Ashley’s infidelity emerged we were a little bit surprised. We thought they were friends and it seemed strange that Cheryl would diss her so publicly.
But hey, what do you know, look who’s jumped on the bandwagon, professional loudmouth Katie is now claiming she was also upset with Posh for similar reasons. Confused? Let us explain… Cast your minds back to a time when a lesser-known fellow called Dane Bowers was dating an up and coming Glamour model named Jordan. Well Dane recorded a song with Mrs Beckham and Jordan and Posh struck up an unlikely friendship, which apparently turned sour when Dane cheated on her and the former Spice Girl offered her no support. See it’s just like the Cheryl saga *sniggers* But Katie then went on to slightly defend Posh claiming, “It turns out Dane was actually sh*gging her mate, so that was the problem.”
