After the sudden hospitalization of Mischa Barton, the CW’s “Beautiful Life” is reportedly working on an indirect replacement of the actress in case she is unable to begin production. The show is said to be quietly adding a new character, tentatively called Jane, to the show, Entertainment Weekly reports. The role would strongly resemble Barton’s character, Sonja Stone, who is an experienced super model. EW reports that casting is already underway. Production for “Beautiful Life” was pushed back from July 22 to July 31. Barton was hospitalized last Wednesday, but sources close to the show say the production schedule was changed due to some of the sets not being completed, and not due to the actress’ hospitalization. The show is scheduled to premiere on September 16 on the CW.
