Among the nominees for Daytime Emmys announced today were Rachael Ray, Dr. Phil and the hosts of “The View.” The awards — named by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and announced on “The Today Show” — recognize outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television. Nominated for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment were “Rachael Ray,” “Live! with Regis And Kelly” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The nominations for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative format went to “Dr. Phil,” “The Doctors” and “The Tyra Banks Show.” The five “View” panelists — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters — share the nomination for Outstanding Talk Show Host, competing against DeGeneres, Ray, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. The lifetime achievement award this year will go to PBS’ long-running children’s program “Sesame Street.” Vanessa Williams is set to host the 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards, which will be broadcast live from Los Angeles on Aug. 30 on the CW.
