Donny Osmond WON in the finale of Dancing with the Stars. Donny, 51, beat out Mya and Kelly Osbourne for the mirror ball trophy!
It was one of the biggest surprises of any season! Mya was the highest-scoring contestant in Season 9. She was also one of the most consistent dancers. However, it was Donny Osmond and his partner Kym Johnson that finally got the leading score last night from the judges in the “last dance.”
The scores are compiled from votes from the fans and the judges. The fan voters make up 50% of the final score. I’m guessing the former teen sensation had A LOT of fans VOTING for him! (ok, ok, ok….I’m pretty certain it was my 5 votes for him that put him over the top)!
I was actually pretty impressed with Donny. They told us he had been traveling around to Vegas (for his show he does there) and Utah (to see his family) during the season. I felt like he was just as good as the other two, and his schedule was jam packed! Plus, he is a bit older than Mya and Kelly! You really have to give that man credit! He seems like a great guy! And…I’m sure his sister Marie Osmond is pissed off in a corner somewhere! Nevertheless, after Donny heard he won, he brought his wife onstage immediately! He brought up his family and Marie….it was very sweet!
Mya was an excellent dancer, but she had no emotion. I didn’t connect with her. You didn’t care if she won or lost. She didn’t provoke any emotion in …anyone! Perhaps her (serious) fans are upset, but everyone else will forget about her. She did nothing to stand out. Kelly Osbourne, on the other hand, was the person to watch! She was amazing! Although I didn’t think she should win, I seriously thought she should get some award for being breathtaking! She grew so much, and I think the world got to see such a wonderful side of her. Plus, her family is really the cutest! I love how her parents and Jack were there to support her!
