An arrest warrant has been issued this afternoon for actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi Quaid, according to various news reports. The charge? Burglary.
The married couple stands accused of allegedly stealing thousands from the San Ysidro Ranch near Santa Barbara, Calif. How does that work exactly?
A burglary warrant was issued for them because authorities believe when they rented the hotel room they had the intention of staying without paying.
That fits the definition of burglary.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department obtained the warrant this past Monday, after Randy and Evi Quaid allegedly skipped out on a huge bill.

A Sheriff’s rep says the department has not made an arrest. Law enforcement sources say they think that Randy and Evi Quaid have a pattern of this.
Yes, a habit of staying in pricey hotels and stiffing the places when they leave. Authorities are therefore trying to nail Quaid and his wife for burglary.
Police believe the Quaids were scamming the San Ysidro Ranch because they have done it before – to the Bel Air Hotel in L.A., among other places.
In addition to burglary, the warrant also lists the felonies of defrauding an innkeeper, and conspiracy. A bail request of $20,000 each has been set.
